CBD (cannabidiol) is one of the cannabinoids contained in cannabis. CBD acts primarily on CB1 receptors (those in the brain) to protect them from activation. CBD oil is produced by distillation - since antiquity by the known method of separating liquids based on the volatility of the components in the boiling liquid mixture. The liquid mixture is produced by macerating cannabis flowers in alcohol to dissolve all the cannabinoids contained. This macerate is mixed with cannabis seed oil to produce hemp oil enriched with cbd and other beneficial cannabinoids.
