Uncaria tomentosa (Vilcacora - cat's claw) is one of the most famous medicinal plants from the area of the Peruvian Andes. The original inhabitants of Peru this plant has been worshiped and for its remarkable properties named vilcacora, which in Quechua language means holy plant. Vilcacora contains large amounts of alkaloids, sterols, aminoglycosides, terpenes, tannins, flavonoids and other important compounds.

Preparation
